Best Halloween Crafts

WHOO HOOOOOO.  That’s the sound of real Halloween excitement.  Not only does it mean throwing aside your personality for a night and donning a different facade altogether; not only does it mean stuffing yourself sick with candy; Halloween means a great excuse to do crafts!  Set aside your laundry and get into the holiday spirit.  We’ve done the work for you–the projects below are some of our favorites after searching the whole wide Internet.

Zombie Pumpkins

If you or your kids are growing tired of the same old witch-face jack-o-lanterns, try ones with a little more personality.  The directions at Martha Stewart call for plastic balls, but we suspect you could use eggs in a pinch.

Pacman Halloween Garland

A little spooky, and a throwback to boot.  This simple garland from Poppytalk is an easy way to make your rooms more Halloweeny, for a party or just for your festive self.

Spooky Wreath

Another good decoration idea that won’t take too long.  Choose your favorite color for the ribbon–but make sure it’s Halloween-themed!

Googly-eyed Cards

Quite simply the best improved cards we’ve seen.  Three options for the photos:  use originals, make copies of originals, or pick some up at an antiques store or yard sale.  Although these would look great on a mantelpiece, we’d be so excited to actually receive one that we feel compelled to suggest you actually give them to others…

String Tree Mural

Although this decorating idea from Apartment Therapy wasn’t specifically intended for Halloween, you can make a pretty spooky-looking tree with enough yarn shaped into gnarled branches.  Fun for kids, and easy to take down.
