This morning, we were delighted for two reasons; first and foremost, we climbed from the 19th largest real estate site in June to the 16th, according to the Hitwise Monthly Category Report for July 2008. This is great news for us, especially after we broke into the top twenty last month.
The ranking is derived from market share based on a random sample of 10 million U.S. internet users.

Secondly, the MyNewPlace twitter account has finally proven its utility, as we were alerted to this information via our good friends at Inman, who were good enough to respond to our inquiry.
The reason for our continued improvement is again, as was the case last month, overwhelmingly due to us totally killing it in the apartment rental marketplace. More and more renters are finding all the information on apartments for rent that they need with our custom apartment search.
Complementarily, apartment management companies and landlords are seeing their vacancies being filled by advertising their apartments and homes for rent on MyNewPlace.
We anticipate moving further on up the rankings, especially in the atmosphere of uncertainty that pervades the real estate market at present. With more people looking to rent, the shadow rental market becoming a real competitive alternative to apartments for rent, and apartment managers competing to fill vacancies, the state of the real estate market should contribute to us increasingly garnering more targeted traffic.
