We wanted to share this article as a cautionary tale for apartment dwellers. Apparently, a New Jersey man somehow blew up his apartment spraying for bugs.

Isias Vidal Maceda was miraculously unhurt after the bug spray he was using blew out the windows in his apartment and started a rapid fire.
We hope that although Mr. Maceda did not sustain any injuries, the bugs he was trying to exterminate from his apartment rental all met their demise.
Although there are some infestations that you can take care of yourself, such as rodents and ants, we recommend contacting your landlord if you need to enlist the assistance of a professional exterminator if your apartment becomes infested. As this news story illustrates, working with pesticides can become dangerous.
Check out our new article in our ever expanding apartment guide on How to Get Rid of Pests in Your Apartment.
