It is not every week that we stumble upon some really cool apartment innovation, but the following apartment definitely deserves some special attention. Although this particular innovation is the result of much time, money, thought and effort and is not exactly something that will be included in most apartments for rent, it is certainly inspiring.
Living in an Apartment Riddle
The most imaginative innovation to hit the apartment market in some time has got to be the brainchild of architectural designer Eric Clough, who took the leeway given him by his clients to unchartered territory.

Mr. Clough turned the 4,200 square foot apartment into one big interactive game, replete with ciphers, puzzles, riddles and hidden panels. Inspired by the goal of sparking a child's imagination, Clough designed an apartment that would engross the family in the mystery that lay within their own home.
The apartment was secretly furnished with clues and devices that would reveal secret compartments, instruct the residents/game participants to continue investigating their apartment. The end result may be compared to an apartment version of the early computer game Myst, challenging the participant to uncover dormant clues and unlock patterns with the hope that some larger teleological device is at work.
For example, one sequence of clues involved removing decorative door knockers from hidden panels to make a crank, which opened another hidden panel, inside of which were a set of keys, which revealed secret drawers containing a crossword puzzle whose answers directed the family to tiny panels in the den, where a magnetic cube designed to be used as a key of sorts revealed a poem written by one of the apartment owners.
Check out the pictures below for a better idea of the devices employed by Mr. Clough to develop his fantastical journey of clues, riddle and puzzles through this New York City apartment.

If there is any chance that your apartment includes such interesting and engaging artifacts and designs, please feel free to let us know.
Personally, my mind is dazzled every time the garbage disposal works.
