Waco is a middle sized city located in central Texas. As of 2010, Waco had a population of 124,805 people, making it one of the top twenty five most populated cities in the entire state. The metropolitan area for Waco is nearly double that number, at 234,906. Waco is the county seat of McLennan County, and is known for being located about halfway between Dallas and Austin, two major Texas cities. Waco has a long history, and was occupied by Native Americans in the early 1800s.
