About Vallejo, CA

A large city in the San Francisco Bay Area, Vallejo, California actually served as the state capital back in 1852 and 1853. The old capitol building would have been a historic landmark today, but it burned to the ground in the 1880s as the people of Vallejo waited for a fire truck to arrive by ferry. Nowadays, Vallejo is a well-connected city that gives residents easy access to the Bay Area and the scenic wine country to the north.
