Topeka is a city of 125,000 and the capital city of Kansas; as the seat of the state government, 20% of all employed adults in town are employed by the state. This Midwestern city is home to a number of interesting sites and museums, which cover everything from air combat to full-size tipis. It’s also notable for its history; it was founded as a free town after the 1854 Kansas-Nebraska Act and, 100 years later, was the site of the Brown vs. Board of Education case.
