About Lake Charles, LA

The city of Lake Charles is the 5th biggest urban area in the state of Louisiana. The city is situated near three bodies of water: Lake Charles, the Calcasieu River, and Prien Lake. Lake Charles is considered one of the state’s educational and cultural hubs and is the home of multiple universities. As of the 2010 Census, the population was 71,993 and the city’s metro area had a population of more than double that number, at nearly 195,000.
