Germantown, Maryland is a large town in Montgomery County that began as six individual town villages. It has since grown and developed to become the third most populated city in the state. Only Columbia and Baltimore have higher populations. The city is part of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and sits about 25 miles away from the country's capital.
