About Fontana, CA

A regional hub for the trucking industry, Fontana, California is home to approximately 201,000 people. As the second largest city in San Bernardino County, Fontana also boasts as the 14th largest city in California and was named the 15th safest city in the nation, and 4th safest in California, in 2013. Though primarily an industrial city today, Fontana was founded in 1913 and quickly grew as an orchard and vineyard town but changed radically after World War II. Fontana maintains a desert climate and is regularly affected by the well-known Santa Ana winds moving from the Mojave Desert through the San Gabriel Mountains.
