My biggest delight here on planet Earth is food. To be more exact, my biggest delight is experiencing food in Ennis, Texas, Earth, the Milky Way, the Universe. The breakfast and fresh baked goods in Kolache Depot & Bakery at 114 W Brown St will fill your soul with joy. For dinner try El Mexicano Grille at 219 Ennis Ave. This authentic Mexican cuisine will satisfy the hungry hombre in you. Treat yourself to a post-dinner margarita and go home happy and full.
No need to wish upon a star for fun things to do in Ennis since this place is already stellar. I figure I might as well run with this cosmic theme and first mention the Galaxy Drive in Theatre at 5301 N Interstate Hwy 45. How awesomely retro is that?! Pull up in your 1950’s vehicle with your lady, share a malt, and watch Grease on the silver screen through your windshield. Also, just thought I’d mention that this place is cheap as Earth dirt. After you’ve finished exploring the Galaxy Drive in, blast off to downtown Ennis for some window-shopping, boutiques, restaurants, cafes and more. Not to generalize or anything, but moms will love this historic district’s antique and craft Shops. If you are sick of soaring through the space-time continuum then focus your attention on the wonderful Earth that surround Ennis. There are seventeen parks as well as three lakes in this beautiful city! Hike, play sports, go fishing, paddle boat, picnic, feed the ducks, or stargaze. The choice is yours! After a morning hike, rev up your engines and visit Ennis’ famous Texas Motorplex to catch a race. I can’t believe what I am about to say but….DO NOT MISS the Ennis Annual National Polka Festival!!! I really think I might have to visit Texas for Memorial Day weekend to see the parade, polka bands, street dancing, and to try all the Czech food. So cool!!!!
You and your family have had a great weekend out on the town, but it is now Monday morning and time to get the kids ready for school. The young adults of Ennis, TX will not be at home watching Dancing with the Stars because they will be out being stars themselves. College Street Pub at 210 N College St is just one hot spot Ennis stars might find themselves. This Texan bar is fused with some authentic English culture, making it a genuine pub experience. For the shooting stars that can’t be kept in Ennis, drive down to Dallas and be part of the happening nightlife there. There is a niche for everyone, and those looking to find the gay community might want to check out the Round-Up Saloon at 3912 Cedar Springs Rd.
