Remember that viral youtube video Let Me Borrow that Top? “I’ve already been to heaven, I’ve already been to heaven. I was there for like five minutes and I was like, let’s go.” Clearly Kelly had not been to heaven because she didn’t have an off-campus apartment in Boulder and was not attending the University of Colorado.
What is the first thing you think of when you hear “University of Colorado, Boulder”? Is it the 150 majors there are to choose from? Is it the Buffaloes stellar football or IM ski team? Is it the liberal Berkeley-like vibe? Or is it the beauty of the towering snowcapped mountains that are always in view? Whatever it is that you think of, you are right to be in awe of all the wonders this campus has to offer. You will be satisfied academically, athletically, and atmospherically. It really is hard not to be happy at a place that is filled with such magnificent natural sights. Perhaps the collective happiness of Boulder is what makes it such a pleasant place to go to school and live.
I don’t know if students can actually afford an apartment in the mountains, but there are mountains of choices…as in a lot of choices. The Hill is an ideal student living spot, very close to campus and also cafes, restaurants and shops. The price you pay for such a great location may be a high one, however, so students also like to venture out to Moorehead or Pearl Street. Our apartment guide is a great resource for finding an apartment that is right for you! Wherever you choose to go in Boulder, you will find that the people remain open and accepting of liberal ideals, love independent businesses, and attend yoga. Nameste Boulderans. Boulder keeps getting better and better. Most everything is in walking distance of campus, but for the things that are not, public transportation is easy and available. Just flash the sticker on your school ID and hop on the magic school bus.
So Boulder might be a bit touchy feely, but when it comes to partying, they aren’t kidding around. In addition to all the house parties, frat parties, and gatherings you will be hosting in your new apartment, Boulder is full of bars and college hangout spots. Pearl Street Pub and Cellar at 1108 Pearl St. is a great place to shoot pool, grab a drink and hang out on the patio for a smoke (not that we advocate smoking!). For some live music (and even more pool) check out Catacombs bar at 2115 13th St. If you are not impressed with the awesomeness of Boulder you needa get outta town! Just kidding, but maybe you should get your head checked out. Just kidding again. The University of Colorado has much to offer, and the renting an apartment in the surrounding area is a great idea!
