What color is maize? I assume it is yellow like corn, but why is it that the school colors of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor are maize and blue, and not just plain old ordinary yellow and blue? It’s because students attending this university will not settle for anything ordinary!
I was recently made aware that wolverines are not mythological creatures and, in fact, can be found in zoos and at the University of Michigan. It’s not only the school colors and mascots that seem extraordinary, but the academics and athletics at Michigan are also major contenders in the realm of awesomeness. Michigan is a large school with many departments to choose from. In the College of Literature, Science and Arts students can learn everything from geography to physics. The possibilities are boundless and your mind might just explode all over your professor because of the overwhelming amount of information. Besides academics, students pride themselves on the football games played at “The Big House” at the U of M. Grab hold of some season tix and paint your entire body maize (oh ya, and blue) and sit in the student section and scream your heart out for your team. GOOOOO WOLVERINES!! After all the studying and cheering you will be ready to head home to your new off-campus apartment.
Lucky wolverines will find that their off-campus apartment is the most luxurious cage they have ever experienced. This special cage will be affordable and desirable since there are several housing options for students in close proximity to campus. South University Avenue is a popular spot for the collegiate type to live, and if you gather some friends, rent won’t be half-bad. Our apartment guide will help you learn how to find an apartment that is big or small enough to cage your untamed wolverine soul. Ann Arbor is a funky little city where everyone can feel right at home because of its perfect small town plus city combination. Don’t let Ann Arbor natives like musician, fool you into thinking that this town is only a place for stalkers. It’s not. Also, is it weird that I really like his song? Anyway, most everything cool is walking distance from campus, and the few things farther off can be reached by lots of buses running lots of places at lots of times. University buses and shuttles also prove helpful to students more interested in getting to class than exploring the big, bad world. Ann Arbor is full of things to do at night. Unfortunately most of it is geared toward people 21 and up. If you are underage, try checking out the Greek scene, or have your own party in your awesome new apartment. If you are not underage then you are in luck. Necto Nightclub will be your favorite place to exercise, I mean dance. The Brown Jug might be your next fav hangout. Or have a good time at Good Time Charley’s. A(maize)ing wolverines will marvel at their new off-campus cage, I mean apartment, and the a(maize)ing things they will learn, the sports they will watch, and the fun they will have in Ann Arbor. Watching the “Naked Mile” ain’t bad either, since you will see the men’s crew team streak through campus once a year. Yeeeeeee. U of M is a(maize)ing.
