About Ann Arbor, MI

Ann Arbor may be the quintessential college town.  In 1837 the University of Michigan moved the 35 miles westward from Detroit, and no one quite expected how large it would become. Today, it has an urban area population of about a quarter of a million people, and that doesn't include the over 41,000 students at UM. The city is consistently ranked in the top percentile of places to live in the U.S.
