About Palm Harbor, FL

Playing in Palm Harbor

Depending on the part of town you're looking for an apartment in, and how gorgeous the view is, there can be a considerable range in rental rates in town. Take a look at all the available options so you can choose the best one for the money. American settlers first arrived in Palm Harbor over a hundred and fifty years ago. It was valued for its mild weather, fertile land, and warm, freshwater springs. Today, you can visit the historic downtown area and visit some of the city's first buildings. It’s all within reach of your new apartment. The older buildings around town help give Palm Harbor some of its charm, setting it apart from other similarly-sized, sprawling suburban towns. Renters will also enjoy the unusually hilly topography of this city which gives renters from all over great views of the town and the Gulf of Mexico.

A Day at the Harbor

You can spend a day at sea whenever the mood strikes you. As its name suggests, there is a protected ocean inlet making it a great place to charter a boat from. In the morning, you can head into the deep waters of the gulf to fish for sea bass, grouper, snapper and other large ocean fish. Occasionally, monsters as big as cars are pulled out of the gulf here, though most are the perfect size to filet and serve for dinner. In the afternoon, you can hop on a sailboat to chase down the setting sun as it sinks into the gulf. Beach goers may not have any sandy spots right in town, but there are beaches just a little north or south. The waters of the gulf are warm and usually calm, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling in search of fish. When the surf is up, the long sandy beaches are the perfect place to learn to surf or kite board.

Harbor Art

Most people who move here do so because of the natural beauty and perfect year-round weather. Despite the natural beauty all around, or perhaps because of it, many of the people who live here can't seem to stop creating more beauty of their own. This city is home to a number of art shows and fairs, including the Harbor Art Fine Arts and Crafts Festival in December. Local artists can submit their paintings, sculptures, and decorations to the festival in hopes of winning one of the grand prizes. Appreciators of the arts can pick up a few new pieces to liven up their apartments and attract the attention, and possibly the envy, of their neighbors.

A Sporting Good Time

With so many days of beautiful weather, it's hard not to spend all of them outdoors. Fortunately for you, there are a variety of sports teams to get involved with right in town. Baseball, tennis, soccer, golf and volleyball are all popular sports in the area and joining up with a group is a great way to meet to friends. You can also head into nearby Tampa Bay to catch a live Buccaneers, Rays or Lightning game.
