About Ennis, TX

Mars, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and UrENNIS. Not Quite. But Ennis, in Texas (not outer space), might as well be a planet all its own because it has a world of things going on! That is why you should consider renting an apartment in Ennis!

Ennis, just thirty minutes away from downtown Dallas is known as the Bluebonnet City for all the blue wildflowers that cover its terrain. It has around 18,513 with the largest Czech community in Texas. Ennis is known for having an antiquated feel, and its downtown area is recognized as a Historic Place by the National Register. See for more information on this cosmic wonder and visit LocalTalk to learn what the locals have to say about it.

Out of the World Renting Rates

The shine of Ennis just got a little brighter because of its out of this world renting prices for apartments! Check out our rental and census data tables as well as our other fact sheets for more info about affordability and options for your future new digs. Even aliens will be taken about by how cheap we Earthlings get to live!

Earthly Delights

My biggest delight here on planet Earth is food. To be more exact, my biggest delight is experiencing food in Ennis, Texas, Earth, the Milky Way, the Universe. The breakfast and fresh baked goods in Kolache Depot & Bakery at 114 W Brown St will fill your soul with joy. For dinner try El Mexicano Grille at 219 Ennis Ave. This authentic Mexican cuisine will satisfy the hungry hombre in you. Treat yourself to a post-dinner margarita and go home happy and full.

A Planet of Fun

No need to wish upon a star for fun things to do in Ennis since this place is already stellar. I figure I might as well run with this cosmic theme and first mention the Galaxy Drive in Theatre at 5301 N Interstate Hwy 45. How awesomely retro is that?! Pull up in your 1950’s vehicle with your lady, share a malt, and watch Grease on the silver screen through your windshield. Also, just thought I’d mention that this place is cheap as Earth dirt. After you’ve finished exploring the Galaxy Drive in, blast off to downtown Ennis for some window-shopping, boutiques, restaurants, cafes and more. Not to generalize or anything, but moms will love this historic district’s antique and craft Shops. If you are sick of soaring through the space-time continuum then focus your attention on the wonderful Earth that surround Ennis. There are seventeen parks as well as three lakes in this beautiful city! Hike, play sports, go fishing, paddle boat, picnic, feed the ducks, or stargaze. The choice is yours! After a morning hike, rev up your engines and visit Ennis’ famous Texas Motorplex to catch a race. I can’t believe what I am about to say but….DO NOT MISS the Ennis Annual National Polka Festival!!! I really think I might have to visit Texas for Memorial Day weekend to see the parade, polka bands, street dancing, and to try all the Czech food. So cool!!!!

Blast Off to School

You and your family have had a great weekend out on the town, but it is now Monday morning and time to get the kids ready for school. Parents can feel confident that they are sending their kids off to great schools within the Ennis Independent School District. Check out to learn about this District’s award winning public schools.

Dancing with the Stars

The young adults of Ennis, TX will not be at home watching Dancing with the Stars because they will be out being stars themselves. College Street Pub at 210 N College St is just one hot spot Ennis stars might find themselves. This Texan bar is fused with some authentic English culture, making it a genuine pub experience. For the shooting stars that can’t be kept in Ennis, drive down to Dallas and be part of the happening nightlife there. There is a niche for everyone, and those looking to find the gay community might want to check out the Round-Up Saloon at 3912 Cedar Springs Rd. At this gay country club you will find karaoke, plenty of room for dancing, good drinks and a diverse crowd of men and women. You seldom ever see the words gay and country club in the same sentence so you know this place has got to be good.

It has definitely been established the Ennis is not UrEnnis, but it could be your Ennis if you choose to rent an apartment there!
