This Miami University, in Ohio, is nowhere near a beach, nor is it particularly sunny. In fact, it's snowy. But only in the winter. Poet Robert Frost called it one of the most beautiful campuses ever, or something to that effect, and there's a good chance he literally wrote home about it. You'll find Miami University in Oxford—again, not the Oxford everyone's expecting—over in the far west side of the Buckeye State. The names aren’t the only impressive part of this college, either. Their RedHawks compete in Division I sports, and the school ranks in the top 40 public schools in the nation.
Western Ohio. What can we say about it? Well, for starters we can say that the rental situation here for prospective students of Oxford's top-notch institution of higher learning is likewise top-notch. This top quality is matched by bottom prices, so you're totally covered, literally from floor to ceiling. So even though living off campus is a distinct possibility even on a limited budget, apparently nearly 100% of students here live campus. And why shouldn't they? With newly renovated rooms and private bathrooms you'd be a sucker not to move in faster than you can say "SAT score." But, if you DO decide to break the mold and live it up in Oxford, we’ve got some listings waiting just for you.
You'll be happy to know that Miami University's transportation options are second to fun. (Ok, bad play on words, but our heart's in the right place.) There's the Miami Metro, a name we're certain exists somewhere 1000 or so miles south too, incidentally; Access Miami, for students with disabilities; and most impressively, a "Nighttime Door-to-Door" service that helps get students to their on- and off-campus destinations after dark. As for where to go and what to do with your freedom to move about, well, we suggest the establishments you'll find on this list. You probably can't go wrong with the joint simply called "Great Steak & Potato," unless you hate, well, steaks and potatoes.
