About Columbia, MD

Columbia, Maryland didn't become a town by accident. The whole community that resides inside of Howard County, Maryland was planned out by developers in 1967. Home to 10 self-contained villages, the idea behind the community was to enhance the residents' way of life and to not focus solely on economic value. The plan was to bring people together as one, and not separate them based on color, religion, or class. Today, that dream lives on, with the naming of Columbia as number 4 out of 100 of the best places to live in the United States in 2008, number 8 in 2010, and then again as number 2 in 2012.
