About Fayetteville, AR

Fayetteville is the third largest city in the state of Arkansas and the county seat for Washington County. Forbes Magazine has listed the city of Fayetteville as number 15 for the \Best Places for Business/Careers\ and as number 7 for the \Top College Sports Town\. With a reputation for Memphis-style BBQ, Fayetteville delivers on the culinary and the culture of the south. Known for being a college town, Fayetteville is also home to Fayetteville State University and a campus for the University of Arkansas.
  • University of Arkansas, Fayetteville

University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, home of the red and white Razorbacks, is the flagship school of the University of Arkansas System. The way to succeed and make most of your college experience at U of A is to get involved on campus. Campus culture is very strong at Arkansas, with 350 student organizations and over 200 areas of study. Don’t just settle with the first exciting thing you discover; take the time to explore all the opportunities this school has to offer.

    Renting in Fayetville

You won’t need any luck trying to find an apartment in Fayetteville. There are hundreds of places available to students; though most are apartment buildings, there are single-family houses here and there. You won’t have to look far to find your ideal college apartment. While freshmen are required to live on campus, 70% of all U of A students live off campus and for good reason, too. There’s a wealth of listings to choose from that are within a reasonable distance to campus, the town is safe enough for the late-night crawlers. Your feet and your bike will be enough to maneuver the streets all four years. A car may be a hassle, as parking is usually harder to find around densely-populated areas in Fayetteville.

    Fay Town

If you are attending U of A, I hope you like the outdoors. The campus is just a short drive away from natural beauties such as the Ozark National Forest. The nearby Buffalo National River and Kings River are great places to go floating, and Beaver Lake is the place to be if you like fishing. For a relatively small town, Fayetteville has a diverse and lively atmosphere. At night, students flock to Dickens Street for bars, restaurants, and all that jazz, all within walking distance from campus. At U of A, you won’t have to travel far to live a little.
