Did you know that the largest T. Rex skull ever found is on display at Montana State Bozeman’s Museum of the Rockies? Unlike this ancient lizard, you won’t have to wait 65 million years to be a part of this prestigious institution. Located in Bozeman, Montana, Montana State University enrolls approximately 14,000 students and offers numerous baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Its motto is actually “Mountains & Minds” a reference to its beautiful setting and commitment to learning. Think of how wonderful it will be to look out at stunning mountains while you’re studying! Luckily, you’ll have time to enjoy the outdoors, as 80% of students find the course load highly manageable. You’ll have a blast at MSU. You’d invite Champ the mascot out for a hike if only there were big enough boots.
You’re going to be buying plenty of blue and gold clothes once you see how great MSU really is, and you won’t have a problem accommodating your color-coordinated wardrobe with the lovely apartments available. Approximately 75% of students live off campus. Bozeman’s location, however beautiful, limits the amount of off-campus housing, so you’ll want to look early; it’s suggested you look for a place in July. Be sure to take a look at our apartment hunting guide for help finding roommates who don’t blast Motley Crue records at 2 a.m. every night (unless that’s really what you’re looking for).
It might seem like a fantastic idea to throw a huge pillow fight at the Mall, but if you don’t want to upset campus officials, you’ll want to unwind off campus. Most students bike, walk, or drive around town, but you can always hop on The Streamline if you’re too beat from last night’s study session. Head over to the Cateye Cafe and study for General Microbiology class over delicious banana bread French toast. Once you’re suitably studied and satiated, visit Zebra Cocktail Lounge for a live show that makes up for your roommate’s sorry taste in music. You’ll run into plenty of your classmates at The Baxter Hotel, a Bozeman hot spot. Talk last night’s football game and de-stress with fellow Fighting Bobcats. You’ll have no trouble easing your term paper-demolished mind with all the fun off-campus activities at MSU.
