    Cal Poly does not, in fact, set a slow place. The professors are fast talkers and the students are fast learners. The world of SLO is a fast-paced one because there are so many possible courses to take, IM teams to join, clubs to start, things to research, scientific papers to write and publish, equations to solve, robots to engineer, books to read, and friends to make. Though professors expect students to keep up with rigorous coursework, they are willing to slow down and meet with students in office hours for some one-on-one conversation. Besides living in the academic fast lane, these kids know how to be fast on the field—hardly a surprise that they’re known as the Mustangs! Football and basketball games are always a great way to hang with your buds while cheering on your school.
