John Helm, Founder and CEO
John is the founder and CEO of MyNewPlace. John was the founding CEO of AllApartments/SpringStreet, which became the number one apartment rental and relocation site on the Internet before its sale to Homestore (NASDAQ: HOMS) in 1999. Prior to Springstreet, John was the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Business Development for Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Brokerage Company where he headed up all finance, technology, and business development activities. John was also a consultant for McKinsey & Company for six years and a sales specialist for Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services. John holds a B.A in Economics from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Kenneth Cluff, VP of Technology and Co-Founder
Ken is responsible for technology strategy and implementation at MyNewPlace. Ken is a veteran of the apartment rental space having worked as the Director of Software Development at AllApartments/SpringStreet where he managed all site design and development activities. Prior to SpringStreet, Ken was a Software Architect and Development Manager for Biosym Technologies (now Accelrys), a San Diego based developer of molecular modeling and drug design software. Ken holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Amanda Cann, VP of Sales
Amanda is responsible for real estate sales at MyNewPlace. Amanda joined MyNewPlace from Wells Fargo Bank where, as the Director of Sales & Strategy, she managed the strategy, implementation, and small business sales for Merchant Payment Solutions. Amanda held other key roles at Wells Fargo including Director of Marketing and Sr. Manager, Inside Sales and Business Development. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Amanda held several roles at CitySearch including Director of Corporate Development, General Manager of the Atlanta Market, and Sales Manager. During her tenure, Amanda grew Atlanta to the leading market in revenue and helped develop the real estate product. Amanda holds a B.A. in Communications from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Mark Moran, VP of Marketing & Business Development
Mark is responsible for MyNewPlace’s product and consumer marketing, and for ramping traffic and revenues via relationships with world-class Web sites and advertisers. Previously, Mark was VP Business Development at Riya, Inc. where he built over 400 merchant and partner relationships for the company’s Like.com shopping portal. While at Tribal Fusion, he was general manager of its two performance marketing divisions and responsible for an 8-digit P&L. Previous startup experience include President & COO of Pivia, Inc. (purchased by Swan Labs, then by F5) and VP Corporate Development at Owners.com. Prior to Tribal Fusion, Mark led the eBusiness Group at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, where his scope of responsibilities ranged from strategic planning, business development, site production, and vendor management. Mark holds a BA from Pomona College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Bobby Niers, Director of Operations
Bobby is responsible for the customer service and production operations of MyNewPlace. Bobby was the Director of Content Operations and Information Services at Rent.net, Director of Product Operations at Move.Com, and the Director of Web Operations at Homestore. As the first person hired at Rent.Net, Bobby developed all of the internal business systems and operational workflow that paved the way for the evolution of Rent.Net into Move.Com and Move.Com's ultimate sale to Homestore in 2001. Bobby studied History and American Literature / Culture at the University of California, Los Angeles.
