Postgres DB Architect

If you are a DBA with a couple years or more of PostgreSQL experience (we're running 8.1 now) then we have an excellent opportunity for you. You'll work with an exceptional team, have a pivotal role in scaling our operations, and will have a chance to contribute significantly to the continuing growth of our business. Position: The Database Administrator will primarily be responsible for the performance, reliability, and scalability of the Postgres databases that power MyNewPlace.com and related sites. He/she will collaborate with the IT team to implement and refine operational processes like local and remote replication, backup, failover, etc., establish optimal hardware and database tuning profiles, and monitor overall database health and performance. He/she will also work with the Development team on database design and schema changes, contribute significantly to performance initiatives like table partitioning, and will perform ongoing query optimization. Primary Role and Responsibilities:- Ensure performance and scalability of PostgreSQL databases;
- Implement, refine and maintain database replication and failover;
- Install, tune and monitor Postgres database instances;
- Develop, refine and monitor recurring database jobs/scripts;

Responsibilities
MyNewPlace has myriad users and therefore needs to optimize its content to meet the varying needs of each user type and source. You will help improve the site’s overall UI and consistency, while helping us also address the unique needs and aspirations of our varied user segments. You will champion site UI improvements based on ROI and data. Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop an integrated and compelling user experience across the MyNewPlace Web site (i.e., own the overall user experience)

Customer Care Associate

Have you got it? Can you teach someone over the phone how to use our Manager Center? Can you navigate your way through a customer dispute and come out of the conversation with a better relationship? Do you know your way around a computer and can you quickly understand data content issues? Are you diplomatic and Internet savvy?
You will be part of a team that manages customer relationships for this new, high volume consumer site. In the short term, your key function will be to engage our new customers as we partner with them to load their information in our databases prior to site launch. Once the data is in our system, you will also be responsible for following operational protocol for quality assurance, customer communication, and data maintenance. Responsibilities
- Introduce new customers to our sign-up processes.
